Christmas 2009

Dear Family and Friends! We can't believe another year has passed and we are entering 2010 in just two weeks! We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We know this year has been hard for many, both financially and otherwise; we have experienced our share of difficulties, mostly health related. But we are very thankful that God remains faithful even when we are faithless.

As you can see from the photo, Luke is a pretty happy little guy. We took some pictures a few weeks ago (thanks Tara!) and he wasn't very cooperative, but we got some good shots in nonetheless (more are posted on Facebook). He keeps us running. And despite the fact that his parents are old, decrepit, and decaying rapidly, Luke's antics keep us smiling and laughing most of the time. He is maturing and we expect that he will be ready for kindergarten in the fall.

We traveled to England in March and spent the majority of time with Neil's folks and sisters. Neil played with Scott Cunningham at Creation Fest again during the summer, came home, and immediately got really ill. He ended up in bed for nearly ten days! He recovered a few days after School of Worship started classes, and we were off and running again.

Since then, I've had many little health scares, and currently I'm scheduled to see a neurologist on Tuesday for some really nasty headaches. Due to my breast cancer (bc) history, the doctors aren't taking any chances since bc can metastasize to the brain. We would appreciate your prayers:)

I was able to share my testimony on an Internet TV program called Today's Faith a few weeks back and have received some encouraging feedback. If you get a chance, check out the link: http://www.hischannel.com/streambird/2000/2013tue/vodtv.php. I was able to share about my upbringing, my coming to Christ, my experience with cancer, and ultimately the blessing of being able to have Luke.

Neil recently sold one of his drum kits, invested in more recording studio gear, and is in the process of recording a solo project of original songs (after a lot of positive feedback about his demo recordings). He also played some of those songs live for the first time at our friends' Landon & Kellie's wedding.

We would love to hear from you! We are both on Facebook, so look us up or drop us an e-mail. Please let us know how we can pray for you.

"At the beginning God expressed himself. That personal expression, that word, was with God, and was God, and he existed with God from the beginning. All creation took place through him, and none took place without him. In him appeared life and this life was the light of mankind. The light still shines in the darkness and the darkness has never put it out. ... So the word of God became a human being and lived among us. We saw his splendour (the splendour as of a father's only son), full of grace and truth. And it was about him that John stood up and testified, exclaiming: 'Here is the one I was speaking about when I said that although he would come after me he would always be in front of me; for he existed before I was born!' Indeed, every one of us has shared in his riches - there is a grace in our lives because of his grace. For while the Law was given by Moses, love and truth came through Jesus Christ. It is true that no one has ever seen God at any time. Yet the divine and only Son, who lives in the closest intimacy with the Father, has made him known" (John 1:1-5, 14-18).
